Please respect all trail notices THEY'RE FOR YOUR SAFETY!! This is especially relevant for the Section between Picton and Tuamarina where our constuction and maintenance crews will not expect riders on the trail.
Some of the trail passes through private land and working vineyards, for your safety and the continued support of the community please respect their rules.

It is with deep sadness and respect that we are closing the trail north of Bush Road. This rāhui is in place to acknowledge the passing of the three individuals in a motor vehicle incident and protect visitors to the area until the rāhui has been lifted.
The rāhui will be in place for at least 10 days.

From 7am on Sunday 13th October to 5.30pm on Monday 14th October 2024 the Factory Rd/Old Beach Rd/Hapuku Rd Railway Crossing in Hapuku Village will be closed while the crossing is replaced.
Although the road will be closed we have been informed that workers will escort you across the tracks if you are willing to walk and carry your bike. Please be patient while you wait to be escorted and cross with care.

Make use of the stopping area to regroup and check for traffic before heading over Middle Creek bridge and off towards the Hapuku Bush Trail section

Change of trail layout. Curb installed to prevent cylists leaving marked trail and riding on gravel road. This is a busy industrial site with fully laden truck & trailer units using the road heading to the quarry and concrete plant.
Please take note of changed layout and DO NOT ride on the gravel road, users are asked to remain on designated safe dual use cycle / walking trail and follow signage advising of safe route.
