Fulton Hogan installing the Waima clip-on bridge

We are delighted to have construction happening in a new section of the trail with the Fulton Hogan team getting to work installing the 160m clip-on shared path to the Waima | Ure River Bridge on SH1 south of Ward.

This clip-on bride will provide a new section of walking and cycling path over the river, making it safer for pedestrians and cyclists to traverse the river.

The Whale Trail Project Manager, Nigel Muir comments “This Section has been in ‘planning’ for some time now so it’s a real milestone to have construction starting here.”

Fulton Hogan are the main contractor on this bridge installation, with the bridge being fabricated by Brightwater Engineering.
