Improved Wairau South Route

Earlier this year, the Wairau bridge section (north and south) of the trail was damaged during a severe weather event.

There has been a huge team effort by a number of contractors and partners, including our own team, Marlborough Rivers, Marlborough Parks, Marlborough District Council, KiwiRail, New Zealand Transport Agency, Elite Excavations, Gills Construction and Concrete Comrades, to repair and improve the trail in time for summer. Thanks to this collaboration, the route is now looking stunning: stronger, safer, and more beautiful than ever.
