The most common request we get through our contact us page is “where is the trail going?” To answer that and to help with your planning we’ve added some pages to the website.
So now, if you want to keep up with the developments of the trail you can now click on the “Plan Your Ride” tab on our website and discover what sections are “Open” In Design” or “Under Construction”.
The route description is provided, along with distances, times and very handily, warnings and hazards on the trail. If we need to close a section of the trail, or let you know about upcoming works we’ll be posting it on the “Trail Warnings and Alerts” tab.
We’ll be regularly updating these pages so you have the latest information about the status of all the sections. As we open trail we’ll post it here and provide information on the trail status. In the coming weeks we’ll provide feedback portals for you to tell us how you enjoyed your experience on the trail.
We know you’re enjoying the trail with over 200 users per day clicking through the trail counters in places like the Awatere Bridge. Transformed by the local community in partnership with the Whale Trail its becoming a hot spot for passing drivers to stop and take a look at the murals, read the information board and take a walk.
