Blue Sky and Sunshine along The Whale Trail at Riverlands
Blue Sky and Sunshine along The Whale Trail at Riverlands

After weeks of relentless rain and grey skies, we're finally basking in the sunshine again.

At the peak of the downpours, vineyard posts and bridges were submerged underwater along with parts of our Whale Trail.

And while some parts of the trail sustained flood damage — water, silt, and debris took their toll in ways beyond our control, the majority of the trail and the surface endured. This resilience is a credit to the meticulous trail design work by Hamish, and the construction and engineering teams whose expertise gave the trail the strength to weather the storm.

Now that the storm clouds have passed, there has been a huge effort by the team, volunteers and contractors to repair and clear the worst parts so that you can get out and about on the open parts of the trail now that the sun is back. Keep an eye out on our website for updates about what parts are currently rideable.

Here's to more blue sky and sunshine!
