Gentle climb, sweeping decent, relaxing ride past Blue Hole, Para Wetlands to Tuamarino
Note: This section is Under Construction and closed to the public.
Starting at the top of the Picton Elevation follow the signage and enjoy the sweeping downhill to Lindens Road. Continue your ride past the Koromiko Airport heading south along the western side of the railway, crossing Speeds Rd and anticipating a wonderful rest at The Blue Hole. Take a minute to enjoy the native plantings invigorating this special wetland restoration.
The trail then climbs gently around the western edge of the Para Wetland providing magical views and wildlife encounter. Enjoy the wildlife in the Para Wetlands, and the ride through to Tuamarino, the site of Te Ārai o Wairau/The Wairau Affray.

It is with deep sadness and respect that we are closing the trail north of Bush Road. This rāhui is in place to acknowledge the passing of the three individuals in a motor vehicle incident and protect visitors to the area until the rāhui has been lifted.
The rāhui will be in place for at least 10 days.
